Street Team

Corner

Our goal is to bring young people together to work toward a world without cancer. You may know someone with cancer, have had cancer yourself, or just want to help a great cause. Check out how we are making a difference!

What does the Yroswell Street Team do?

The Team volunteers at events to educate the community about cancer and Roswell Park. We have fun doing it by playing interactive games, handing out awesome prizes and making new friends.

How can I become a member?

Each November, the Yroswell leadership team accepts applications from enthusiastic high school and college students (ages 14 and up) who want to get involved in the fight against cancer. Applications for the 2011-2012 Street Team will be available in September 2011. For more info e-mail yroswell@roswellpark.org.

It feels great to make a difference!

Check out these comments from members of the 2010-2011 Street Team:

“One thing I would like to tell the Yroswell community is that you don’t have to be a doctor to tell the world about cancer and to find a cure.” - Juliana

“My favorite part of being on the Yroswell Street Team is knowing that in some small way I am making a difference in the mindset of Generation Y’ers. I hope that if any of the young people who have attended our events ever have to deal with the hardship of cancer, they can look back and remember that Roswell is in the community for treatment and to help with coping.” - Melanie

“Get involved! Volunteering is a great experience and a good opportunity to get closer to your community.” - Emily

“My grandfather died of cancer and spent his last few months at Roswell. They took great care of him and I want to help spread Roswell’s mission.” - Sam
